As the Founder CEO and Director of Oneida Circle is it my personal mission to help Inspire, Educate and Empower OUR Youth’s. Being a survivor of child sexual abuse and bullying, I have personally experienced all the turmoil and emotions that come with survival. For most of my life I lived as an overweight woman, hiding my inner hurt and pain, thinking that wearing the fat suit and hiding behind it would protect me from further emotional injury.
However, this was completely wrong: I subjected myself to abusive relationships and buried myself under my collections of “stuff”; my children actually labeled me a hoarder.
Although my outward personality and mental state seemed to be ok, I wasn’t.
In 2011 my life started to morph and like the butterfly the cocooning stage was finally over. I survived another emotional blow and finally began to heal. Losing over 180lbs and finally loving & believing in myself, my goals & dreams started to take shape. During the metamorphosis of shedding the weight and developing my publications, I had the deep desire to “pay it forward” and found my life's purpose which has helped guide me to the organization and development of Oneida Circle.
Oneida Circle will offer an annual calendar of Youth Programs that will help Inspire, Educate and Empower our members: with self-esteem and confidence building, anti-bullying, suicide education and awareness, fashion, creative arts, music and mentoring.
Oneida Circle will annually hold a Prom/Grad Attire event for all.
Our goal for our first annual event 2018 Prom/Grad season is to help 100 youths with our Look Good Feel Amazing Event. Oneida Circle will be held annually
and provide applicants with all the donated items they need for Prom/Grad: attire, shoes, accessories, makeup, hair, etc. and each member will receive a bursary to help them with any other needs for their special day.
Oneida Circle’s calendar of Events is filled with a Festival, Showcase, Gala Dinner and we need your help and support to make it happen and continue with our mission.
